Lone Star Victims Advocacy Project is excited to announce our hire of Diana Gómez, our new Central Texas Coordinator!
Diana Gomez is a native Tejana who grew up in Kyle, Texas and graduated with a B.A. in Mexican-American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. She worked as an educator for 5 years in Central Texas and abroad in Colombia and Brazil. Most recently, she lived in the Rio Grande Valley working with unaccompanied child migrants before joining LSVAP. Her loves in life are tacos, jalapeños, social justice and reality television.
Diana will serve nearly 40 counties in rural Central Texas, where she will work to educate, advocate for, and provide free immigration legal assistance that empowers immigrant survivors of abuse. When asked what drives her passion for working with immigrant survivors, Diana says: "Witnessing the incredible community organizing work that the immigrant community produces on a regular basis inspires me greatly to do my part as an advocate." She is excited to join the LSVAP team and to be back home in Central Texas and continue immigrant advocacy work in rural communities here.
Please join us in welcoming Diana!
